It’s fair to say I was an early adopter in the world of aerial filming, completing my first CAA commercial qualification in 2014. 

Alongside training flights, I have dozens of incident-free commercial flying hours behind me. It’s that hands-on experience, not just the certificate, that actually counts.

As the owner of an established video production business, I was quick to embrace the dynamic filming abilities that drones brought to our projects. I was flying when drones were huge and heavy, batteries lasted less than 10 minutes, and the best available drone camera was a GoPro! As modern drone technology advances to new levels and abilities, their inclusion in projects continues to raise production levels and increase engagement. Drones are not just for the classic ‘establishing’ shots or flying over fields and rooftops. With the right pilot, used properly and creatively, they bring an incredibly engaging, versatile and kinetic style of filming to almost any project.

I’m currently engaged on a long-term project producing drone footage, 360 panoramas and stills for a solar installation, the kind of ongoing aerial work where consistency and reliability matter as much as the flying itself.

Whether working directly for clients or as a trusted freelance pilot, I offer a highly experienced, fully certified and commercially insured service, currently flying under UK1 equivalent classification, with the practical hours in the air to back it up.
